The Cat Butt Museum welcomes groups of all sizes, provided those groups are prepared to behave respectfully in the presence of important rear-facing cultural material.
Our group tours are ideal for schools, clubs, workplaces, family gatherings, academic programs, and organizations seeking an outing that will be difficult to explain later.
Tour Options
Standard Group Tour
A general introduction to the museum’s history, mission, and most significant posterior holdings.
Educational Tour
Designed for students and lifelong learners, this tour includes age-appropriate terminology, guided observation, and only a moderate amount of institutional nonsense.
Corporate Team-Building Tour
Strengthen communication, morale, and shared confusion through a structured museum experience no one in HR fully approved.
Private Scholarly Visit
For researchers, historians, and highly specific enthusiasts seeking deeper engagement with the museum’s archives and theoretical frameworks.
Group Size
Groups of 5 or more visitors may request a group tour. Groups larger than 20 may be divided into smaller parties for safety, comfort, and emotional processing.
Reservations
Advance reservations are strongly encouraged, mostly because the museum staff needs time to invent a schedule and stand near a clipboard.
Tour Length
Most group tours last approximately 30 to 45 minutes, depending on group size, question volume, and whether anyone asks “but why?” too early.
School Groups
School groups are welcome. Teachers and chaperones are responsible for maintaining order, answering follow-up questions, and deciding whether this counts as art, science, or a field trip mistake.
Chaperones
One adult chaperone is recommended for every 10 students, or every 3 students if the group has recently discovered puns.
Accessibility
We are happy to discuss accessibility needs when arranging your tour. The museum believes everyone deserves equal access to educational content of questionable necessity.
See our Accessibility statement.
Food and Drink
Food and drink are not permitted during tours. This protects the exhibits, the visitors, and the fragile dignity of everyone involved.
Photography
Non-flash photography is permitted unless otherwise noted. Please avoid blocking pathways, crowding exhibits, or staging dramatic reactions that exceed local fire code.
Request a Group Tour
To request a group tour, please contact the museum with your preferred date, group size, organization name, and a brief explanation of how things got to this point.
